The Wedding
Installment II
My perspective changed upon driving up to pick up my parents,
who would carpool with us to the beach.
Everywhere I turned, beauty attacked my senses.
I jumped out of the van and said "find my parents I need to get some photos"
Weddings are special events and part of that ambiance is the small, special touches added
giving personality to the day.
Never before have I seen this done so accurately and fittingly
to the bride and groom.
I have no idea how many hours, days, weeks, months my niece spent
pouring herself and her groom into the setting of this beautiful event.
Even without a glimpse of them,
I saw them. I sensed them. They were present.
Not only is this girl wicked smart,
she is also known to some as "Martha"
as she is a Foodie and has creativity pouring out of any spaces
that intellect has left extra room.
Nuf said.
EVERYTHING was put together by her hands or her grooms.
I realize now that i was not the perfect guest.
I felt like the paparazzi taking a bit of advantage
of my press pass (if I ever had one).
I am hoping that a bit of impromptu, behind the scenes action
will be worth my indiscretion.
I felt most guilty when caught with my lens pointed toward my sister.
Hopefully she will be glad to look back.
She must forgive me.
Because I am the baby.
Bah.
Not a single detail was overlooked.
Most notable (to those of us clothed in a dress)
were The Royal (air conditioned) Restrooms.
More on this later.
The Driver and Security Detail.
This gorgeous kid belongs with the FBI, yes?
For the faint factor. She forgets nothing.
I'm not sure what was taking place in this car ahead of us.
Perhaps music? Small talk? Deep thoughts? Silence? Laughter? Tears?
All of those seem possible from my perspective,
through the lens.
