I have aspirations of someday building a "big girl blog"
that isn't about the kids or family necessarily and doesn't focus so much on photos.
If I had one, today I would post about
turning the corner in the van this morning
and noticing the never ending line of birds
sitting, looking rather bored and unspectacular,
as I raced to our next right place to be.
I find myself drawing connections between everyday things,
usually outdoors but not always,
and me, my life and how I feel on a given day.
Or just humankind in general.
Today I felt certain that the birds were nervously teetering
to the front, to the back
using their stomach muscles to balance,
knowing that just a tiny gust will cause a fall.
Of course we know this not to be true.
I'm thinking the birds feel quite safe knowing that
predators cannot reach them and that if that gust comes along,
they will simply spread their wings and soar with it.
All that being said, I've been feeling really "behind"
in lots of areas but I will not bore you with the details.
Others have mentioned feeling this way lately too.
As though we will never catch up.
To what I don't know.
I am going to run through some of the highlights of summer
lest I forget those lovely, luscious, lazy days.
I'm hoping to feel a little less behind after every post.
Solomon had a wondeful experience at basketball camp this summer.
The coaches were so good.
If was fun to watch other people enjoy our kids
and give of themselves.
Basketball comes quite naturally to him.
I think we know who he gets that from.

I noticed somebody's shirt that said "Hawaii Surfer's Paradise"
I noticed Sol always looks like he's having fun in these pictures.
