Barefoot blogging and The Wedding

Installment I

Events look so different
according to perspective.
My perspective always begins at home,
in my nicely sized bathroom with adjoining closet.
Nicely sized for my husband and I.
A bit tight with all the children crammed in,
choosing jewelry (or trying it all on)
giving makeup and hair advise,
BOUNCING BALLS,
arguing about what the evening will look like for them
and especially stressful is when the little guy is sick.

Big Events do not happen often in our house,
nor are we often invited to Big Events.
Lets face it-
equine shows, drivers training and trips to Urgent Care
just do not justify a totally new outfit including borrowed jewelry, purse, makeup, mani/pedi,
various options for hair decor just in case the weather should change.
and something that qualifies as an "undershirt" for Husband.

Naturally I am (shouting out)  directives for everyone,
iced tea to go, as many AA batteries as possible crammed into my camera bag,
big canvas bag for essentials, my shoes that were just on 12 year old,
that special wedding card that should have been written on days ago,
"call Grandpa to come help Daddy with his tie,
no just drive over there-fast
and leave the air on when you get back".
Leaving the house is nearly always stressful
but leaving for a Big Event adds some additional extra drama.
The budding photographers MUST
document these 2 people who will soon be leaving,
whoever they are, they that smell and look like something of a dream
(or sadly, the last wedding or funeral).

Enter Husbands antics.
He just really belongs behind a microphone doing stand up comedy.
A person outside our immediate circle doesn't see him in this light.
Ever.
Cameras stir this part of him, particularly
when he is dressed nicely.

I find myself with 1 option-
restraining as much as physically possible.
And keep smiling.
After all, we have a Big Event to attend.
NOW.

And they're off!
With him driving, well the speed limit.
This is saved only for Big Events.
But don't tell my daughter that.
She IS in drivers training right now.
